Come and Belong: Getting Involved in Parish Life

At the heart of every vibrant parish is not just a building or a program, but a community of people who come together to pray, serve, learn, and grow in faith. Each of us is blessed with unique gifts and talents, and when we share them, our parish becomes a place where Christ’s presence is truly alive.

We warmly invite you to deepen your connection with our parish by participating in one of our many ministries. Whether you have a passion for prayer, service, learning, or welcoming others, there is a place for you here.

🌿Liturgical life: Giving Glory to God Together

The liturgy is the source and summit of our Christian life. It is where we gather as a community to worship God, celebrate the sacraments, and be nourished by the Word.

There are many ways to serve in liturgical ministries:

  • Readers (Lectors) - proclaim the Word of God during Mass

  • Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion - assist in sharing the Eucharist

  • Altar Servers - support the priest in the celebration of the Mass

  • Music Ministry - lead the community in song and prayer

  • Sacristan - prepare our churches for liturgical celebrations

Through these ministries, you help create a prayerful and welcoming environment where all can encounter God.

🤝 Outreach: Serving Christ in Others

Our faith calls us not only to worship, but also to serve. Outreach ministries allow us to bring Christ’s love to those in need, both within and beyond our parish.

You might consider:

  • Visiting the sick, elderly, or homebound

  • Supporting local charities or food programs

  • Participating in social justice and advocacy efforts

  • Helping with parish service initiatives

These acts of compassion are powerful expressions of God’s love in action.

📖 Education in Faith: Growing Together

Faith is a lifelong journey of learning and discovery. Our parish offers many opportunities to deepen your understanding of the Gospel and grow spiritually.

Ways to get involved include:

  • Catechists and assistants in sacramental programs

  • Bible study groups and faith-sharing gatherings

  • Adult faith formation sessions

  • Youth and children’s programs

By sharing and exploring our faith together, we strengthen not only our knowledge but also our relationship with God and one another.

Welcome and Hospitality: Creating a Home for All

A welcoming parish reflects the open arms of Christ. Hospitality ministries are often the first point of connection for new and returning members.

You can serve by:

  • Greeting parishioners at Mass

  • Assisting newcomers and helping them feel at home

  • Supporting parish events and gatherings

  • Helping to foster a spirit of warmth and inclusion

A simple smile or kind word can make a lasting difference in someone’s experience.
